In this, our 20th year of service at Peace Village, we recommit to bringing the treasures of inner peace and hope for humanity, REGARDLESS of what is happening in the world. Our retreats are inspired by deep experiences of belonging to the One, who is The Source of renewal of all things and beings.

We welcome you to the home of your longing — to your SELF.

Special Event for those who live Nearby to Peace Village!

Dear Friends:

We warmly invite you to a special program for those who live close enough to Peace Village to attend a program which does not involve an overnight stay.  If you live closer to NYC,  Boston, New Jersey or Connecticut, you may be able to attend a similar program close to you.  Check here for contact information of our BK centers.

Charlie Hogg was one of the first from the Western cultures who began studying with the Brahma Kumaris.  Today with nearly 45 years experience on the spiritual journey, he is an exquisite example of the results of a spirtual lifestyle.  We hope you will be able to meet Brother Charlie during his upcoming tour.

WEEK LONG RAJA YOGA RETREAT | RAJA YOGA SHIBIR

JULY 22 – 26

A MEDITATION CAMP IN HINDI AND IN ENGLISH

For a lot of us coming from an Indian background, the tradition of daily prayer and worship is a familiar one. For many of us, it is also a time of solace and comfort.

But are we able to sustain that feeling through the day —  especially in the midst of opposing energies — while with ‘non believers,’ or as we are going through difficult situations?
Is there a way we can steadily increase our reservoir of peace and calm?
Can we stay in the experience of the love of God through a busy day?
How can we increase our focus in meditation?

This retreat will aim to expand our spiritual horizon by systematically introducing the body of knowledge as taught by the Brahma Kumaris and offering simple steps to Raja Yoga meditation (the union of the soul with the Supreme).

Participants will leave with an understanding and experience of:
i) the self as a soul
ii) God as the single Supreme Source of spiritual energy
iii) the laws of Karma and Time that govern us
and most importantly
iv) the spiritual powers that help us to rise above the challenges of life.

This retreat is geared for those who want to begin a meditation practice as well as for those who want to deepen their practice.

  • THERE WILL BE TWO PARALLEL STREAMS – IN HINDI AND ENGLISH
  • THIS WEEK LONG RETREAT BEGINS ON MONDAY AND ENDS ON FRIDAY
  • YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO COME AS A FAMILY (FAMILY MEMBERS ABOVE 16 YEARS OF AGE)\

TESTIMONIALS:

“I felt truly inspired by the first Living Values Education Seminar and I embraced the ideals and “values” immediately.  They were things that I already knew I believed and wanted to impart as a teacher.  Teaching the 3 Rs are important, but I always felt my duty was to do more, especially in this world we live in. . . . ”

“There are many band-aids in the market today; Living Values Education is a program of integrity and self-reflection for the whole child.”

RETURN TO ME

EVERYTHING GOES THROUGH A CYCLE…

August 23 – 25

At a certain moment the end and beginning becomes one again

It is a blessing to realize this moment of possibilities, transformation, and remembrance. This is the moment of becoming full again, of returning to the authentic original self, to God and home. Return implies that it is already there; it makes it easy to just go back to something we forgot.

Return to mE … the small “m” is the inner self, and the importance of having this experience first, to be able to return to the Source (the big “E” in the word mE).

This Retreat is about experiences that empower:

  • Introspection
  • Inner attentiveness
  • Slowing down
  • Self-respect
  • Maintaining the stage of the self
  • Returning to you

Sometimes we think that we get our value from the results of what we do and from the blessings/compliments we may be given, but that is not what it is about. What God wants me to be is me.

LOS OCHO PODERES ESPIRITUALES ( 8 SPIRITUAL POWERS)

EXPLORANDO 8 PODERES ESPIRITUALES

August 23 – 25
“Un verdadero maestro baila con desafíos en lugar de ser derrotado por ellos. Para lograrlo, necesitamos saber cómo usar los poderes del alma. Durante este retiro exploraremos, descubriremos y practicaremos cómo aplicar estos poderes espirituales a las situaciones a las que nos enfrentamos en la vida cotidiana. Este retiro brindará la oportunidad de descubrir la fortaleza espiritual en el interior.”

This retreat is for Spanish speaking only.

A TIME TO SHINE

A RETREAT FOR WOMEN

September 20 – 22

A retreat for women who want to let go of unnecessary thoughts that bring emotional discomfort. We will focus on our true identity: reminding us of and re-activating our feminine energy that leads the way towards a peaceful and compassionate life. For the self and all beings, let us restore peace, harmony, and self-respect in each area of our daily life.

This retreat is an opportunity for creating a new you, a new we, a new us. Through discussion, journaling, meditation, and celebration as women, we will explore the power of remaining loving and stable in a troubled world.

SCIENCE OF THE SOUL

 “ONLY THE SOUL EXERCISES CHOICE”

September 27 – 29

Discovering our soul is essentially discovering our true inner being. Through this discovery, we are able to align with our purpose, our passions and what makes us feel whole. Be more conscious of life as it happens, cultivate an understanding of the self and of the actions we can and must do to achieve our goals, and enjoy life more. Happiness depends on what we do and intend to do, not on what happens to us.

During this Insightful Weekend, We Will Explore:

  • How we define change
  • Science and faith
  • How to focus on the now
  • How science has contributed to the realization of the soul

SPIRITUALITY IN FOOD

HOW FOOD SUPPORTS MEDITATION AND NOURISHES A SPIRITUAL LIFE

September 27 – 29

We all know the phrase “you are what you eat.” In this retreat we discuss the subtle impacts that food has on our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. We seek to understand the dynamics between food and the quality of our thoughts and habits. We explore the role food plays in our spiritual life and identify eating strategies that can nourish the whole self – both body and mind.  Food can be the missing link that supports our efforts for personal change and provides the necessary foundation for the development and maintenance of a regular meditation practice.

HOPE IN HEALTHCARE

FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

October 4 – 6

Healthcare professionals will explore ways to consciously integrate spirituality into their healthcare practices, thus renewing their energy and work’s purpose, and enriching their work experience.

Healthcare professionals will have the opportunity to deepen their awareness and understanding of spiritual concepts — such as soul consciousness and connecting with the Supreme source of spiritual power — and reflective practices, including meditation, silence, and reflective inquiries.

Participants will also explore ways to more consciously integrate these spiritual concepts into their current healthcare practices, thus enhancing the quality of the human experience in healthcare, both for the recipients of the care, as well as for the healthcare practitioners.

This Retreat offers an opportunity for caregivers to nurthure themselves, to refresh their spirit, and to create renewed meaning and resolve for their lives and work.

THE PROGRAM WILL INCLUDE A THERAPEUTIC BLEND OF:

  • conversation
  • storytelling
  • talks
  • reflection
  • meditation
  • quiet time to enjoy nature and be with the self

All the team members for this retreat have a spiritual practice and are skilled in integrating spiritual tools in their professional roles, making them excellent clinicians
